- I'm a Catholic mother of 4 wonderful children homeschooling in the foothills of North Alabama. In coming up with a name for this blog we tossed around several eloquent ideas...thing's like...Jen's blog. As we were brainstorming, I thought of my day. The children always bring me fistfuls of wildflowers from outside, and I had once again washed a pocketful of marbles that had been tucked inside my oldest son's pockets. Wildflowers and Marbles. My days are spent joyfully collecting these treasures and I write about them here.

I had to laugh when I was looking at your wintertide nature walk pictures and my children walked in. In sharing with them what the pictures were, they wanted to know why there was no snow. They were sure they were fall pictures. We have had our share of snow here in Iowa and it is frigid. They decided they would like winter as you experience it. Thanks for the glance of what the seasons are like down south.
