Ivy Basket and Advent Basket

I'm so happy to link you to the two new baskets for Literature for the Young Lady posted today on Serendipity:

The Ivy Basket
The Advent Basket
and
more Advent plans

Hope you all enjoy!

We're certainly enjoying our days filled with Anne right now. In fact, this week we started watching The 1900's House (produced by PBS) and we're all HOOKED! You'll find this, and many other exciting resources linked on the Ivy Basket!

And, I can't tell you how excited we are about a Victorian, Anne-inspired Advent and Christmas around here! Don't you have visions of aromatic oranges punctured with cloves hanging delicately from the chandelier? We do!

This is really lovely and inspiring. My daughters aren't old enough for something like this, but it gives me something to look forward to ... Even though I don't homeschool them now, perhaps one day, or even just as a guide for teaching them how to be young women ...

I really liked your Advent plans, too, some of which I may look to as a guide for myself this year. I have been wrestling with adding Advent into our lives without becoming overwhelmed, because that would defeat the purpose of the season, wouldn't it? You said, "The Advent basket may not reflect the totality of our living out of Advent, but I hesitate to plan or put much more on paper than I have as Advent is a season we try to live out in quiet and simplicity as our hearts are expectant and waiting!" And that was really, really helpful to me, as I *plan* out how we will celebrate Advent this year (and in future years) Thank you, Jen. Your blog and your ideas are really inspiring! God bless you!

Oh, thank you so much, ladies!!! It's so easy to be happy in sharing something like this because putting it together and living it both give me great joy!

Hope you all are able to make changes and make ideas work in your own homes. How beautiful I imagine the different expressions to be!
