Mommy, Teach Me! by Barbara Curtis is a wonderful book that offers some really practical guidelines for using Montessori in the home with the younger set. Barbara is a trained Montessori teacher and a mother of 12 - so she knows more than a little something about homeschooling, Montessori style.

What I found so refreshing about this book is Barbara's way of embracing the beauty of a child learning at home while incorporating Maria Montessori's philosophies of teaching a child and their sensitive periods of learning. The blending of the two is exactly what I'm doing at home. She offers some very specific and practical ideas so you're not left with that "now what?" feeling after reading the book. It's all in there! And the ideas are accessible - there are no $120 relief maps to order. Her suggestions for materials are easy to gather.
